The St. Louis Mineral & Gem Society
schedules field trips during most of the months between September and June.
Local trips range from within sight of the gateway Arch, for agates, petrified wood, and vertibrate fossils, up to four hours away for geodes. Occasional overnight trips travel to places such as Mt. Ida, Arkansas for quartz crystals.
